A competitive program to help kids learn and understand the Bible.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” - Proverbs 22:6

It all starts with the Bible Fact-Pak!

The Bible Fact-Pak is a compilation of 550+ Bible trivia, verses, and theology for kids to memorize that are categorized by difficulty into 10 pointers, 20 pointers and 30 pointers.

With parents' help, kids memorize these questions and then quiz once a month against other kids from other churches to see who can get the most points for their team.

Junior Bible Quiz Divisions

Junior Bible Quiz is divided into two divisions. Kids will get to choose one division for the Quizzing season.

Junior Bible Quiz Basics

JBQ Basics is open to kids in grades K5-5. Kids memorize a selected number of the 10 point questions throughout the season. Teams are made up of 4-5 kids. During competition matches, each team rotates answering 5 questions. After being asked a question, kids rotate through who answers. If they get it correct, they score 10 points for their team. If they answer incorrectly, the next question is read for the next kid and no points are subtracted.

Each team will get to answer a total of 10 questions. If there is a tie, both teams advance to an overtime round. Questions are asked and the buzzer system is used. Whoever buzzes in first gets to answer the question and gain points for their team.

There are 2 Quiz Meets (Nov 4 and Dec 2). Typical time for a Meet is 2 hours. For the 2023-24 season, kids will memorize questions 145-288. We recommend families that are new to Bible Quiz should start with JBQ Basics.

Junior Bible Quiz

JBQ is open to kids in grade 3-5. This is a more advanced version of Quizzing that uses a buzzer system to answer questions. There are also opportunities to advance to State, Regional, and National competitions.

Kids choose which point level to study (10, 20, or 30). Teams are made up of 4-5 kids. During competition matches, questions are read for both teams. Whichever kid buzzes in first gets to answer the question. If a child interrupts the question when they buzz in, they must finish the question before providing the answer. If the child gets it correct, they earn points for their team (10, 20, or 30 depending on the question). If they get it incorrect, their team loses half the value of the point (-5, -10, -15). If the question was interrupted and answered incorrectly, the other team gets an exclusive chance to answer the question.

There are 4 Regular Quiz Meets (Nov 4, Dec 2, Feb 3, Mar 2) and the State Meet on March 23. Typical time for a Meet is 3 hours.

For Parents

Your child's success in Bible Quiz is dependent on the studying done at home. It will be more fun for everyone when families memorize questions together! Practices take place on Sundays during our 9:30 a.m. service.

Bible Quiz Practices and Meets are managed by volunteers. Each Bible Quiz child is required to provide one adult/teen volunteer to help run Quiz Meets in order to participate.

Cost is $35 per child and includes registration costs and a team t-shirt for quiz matches. There are additional costs for advancing to District, Regional and National competitions. If this is your first year quizzing, the Bible Fact-Pak question book will be added to your total for an extra $12. Families should download and read through the Parent Info Packet to further understand the Quizzing program.
